What is the year-start odometer, and do I need it?
The short answer
It’s your car’s odometer reading on 1 April, the start of the tax year. It keeps this year’s kilometres separate from earlier ones. If you got the car later or can’t find that reading, leave it unset and keep logging.
- Open Settings, then Vehicle.
- Under Year-start odometer, tap Set it.
- Enter the reading your car showed on 1 April, then tap Save.
Confirm a new reading each tax year. Once it’s confirmed, edit it only to correct the number from that day.
