What do I need to set up, and why does each step matter?
The short answer
Setup asks about your car, your apps, your work and your tax. After that, Today’s Finish setting up card lists what’s left. Each item says what it unlocks, so do them in the order shown.
What the Finish setting up card can ask for
- Location for your shifts (phone app): without it, kilometres have to be typed.
- What you paid for the car, and the date: this is how Depreciation is worked out.
- What it was worth when you started, if you owned the car before you drove for work.
- Your insurance, or your lease or rental payment: money is held back for it each week.
- Last year’s tax bill, if you drove last tax year: this gives you provisional tax dates.
- Your first fill-up: your own fuel price replaces the national average.
